Indonesian Govt. Paints 232 Slum Houses and Turns It into Rainbow Village
It all started with a mission when a junior high school principal Slamet Widodo, 52, thought he must do something for his community. A simple thought transformed the whole village, Kampung Pelangi, into a stunning display of bright colors and whimsical designs.
To rejuvenate this degraded slum, the Central Java community, located in a southern district of Semarang, spent over $22k on it. The end result is incredible. They painted 232 homes and turned them into works of art.
